Tubular goods specialist RAMCO has signed a contract with Equinor (formerly Statoil) for inspection and mobilization of casing and tubing in Norway potentially worth more than $10 million/year over through 2024. The contract covers RAMCO’s delivery of its Ready to Run service—which prepares tubulars fully ready for use before reaching the rig—to Equinor’s rig sites in the ports of Florø and Sandnessjøen.
The initial contract will last for two years, with extension options in 2020 and 2022.
“Following the Norwegian government’s renewed commitments to the Norwegian Continental Shelf, there is optimism for a sustainable future,” RAMCO Norway managing director Arild Moe said in a statement. “We are part of that by creating genuine value in the supply chain and this contract is a true example.”
Staff from local communities at both sites will carry out the contracted services, which include inspection of casing and tubing ranging from 2 3/8 to 36 in., the installation of centralizers, and bucking services on tubulars. On return from the rigs, stock will be inspected, preserved, and stored for future use.
