The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) Joint Industry Programme 33 (JIP33) published its sixth Phase 3 specification “S-705 Welding of Pressure-Containing Equipment & Piping”.

The specification defines a minimum common set of requirements for the procurement of welding of pressure-containing equipment and piping in accordance with API Recommended Practice 583 (Third Edition, May 2016).

Director of the JIP33 Program, Adri Postema, said, “After a year of work, more specifications will be announced in the months to come.”

The JIP33 seeks to standardize specifications used for procuring equipment and improving the supply chain. Initiated in 2016, JIP33 has published 15 specifications to date, which are being adopted and implemented by operators on major products.
