Much of public opinion about the future of oil and gas is at odds with what SPE members know to be the reality. The transition to a broader mix of energy sources will require many decades to complete. Most people are unaware of all the things in their lives that come from oil and gas, and may also be uninformed about the other positive contributions that our industry makes to society.
To offer some perspective, SPE has launched a new website called Energizing Our Lives. The aim is to report the positive stories about how our industry is having a beneficial impact on people’s lives. The site also highlights innovation and the amazing engineering feats that allow the industry to produce the energy that the world needs. The content comes from SPE as well as other sources and includes videos, articles, reports, podcasts, and blogs.
Included is SPE’s new Fueling Progress blog, which includes the stories of individual members. Have you or your company had a positive impact on people's lives through innovation, energy efficiency, environmental protection, community engagement, building infrastructure, or myriad other ways?
