The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) are pleased to announce that the organizations will co-locate their annual meetings this year. This unique experience will be held 12–14 October at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

These multiday, hybrid events showcase top industry executives and game-changing leaders who will present their strategies and perspectives through panel, special, and technical sessions. For the first time, attendees will have open access to both societies’ technical programs, a combined exhibit floor, and joint networking events taking place in Houston. By co-locating these meetings, attendees will be able to leverage greater knowledge sharing and opportunities to expand business relationships.

Because the Colorado Convention Center has become unavailable for use in October, SPE had to find a new venue for its Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE). “I am very appreciative of our sister society for sharing their conference space with SPE to offer our members an in-person experience this October,” said 2020 SPE President Shauna Noonan.

“SEG is delighted to have SPE joining us in Houston in October,” noted Rick Miller, President of SEG. “We’ve long recognized the value of attacking problems with multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers. Co-locating the SEG and SPE annual meetings provides an amazing and unique opportunity for SEG20 attendees and exhibitors to engage with ATCE20 delegates in a fashion that will undoubtedly prove beneficial to the long-term growth and health of our entire industry.”

With the evolving impacts of COVID-19 felt around the globe, the health and safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to both societies. We will continue to carefully monitor the situation regarding the pandemic and its potential impact on upcoming events. In addition, we will plan for and take precautionary measures to protect public health at the in-person event and hope you can be a part of this special event.

The SPE ATCE and SEG agendas are available online.
