Joe Gutierrez, Jack Moore

Joe Gutierrez (left in picture) and Jack Moore were appointed members of the University of Houston (UH) System Board of Regents by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.  They will each serve a 6-year term.  

Gutierrez’s more than 30-year tenure in the energy industry includes working for Mobil Natural Gas, a division of Mobil Oil Corp., for 10 years. He cofounded NET Midstream in 1996 and currently serves as CEO of Novi Ventures. He holds an MBA from C.T. Bauer College of Business.

Moore is former chairman and CEO of Cameron International Corp. Before that, he held several management positions at Baker Hughes where he was employed for 23 years. Moore holds a BBA from UH and is a graduate of the advanced management program at Harvard Business School. He is a current member of the UH Board of Visitors and the group’s former chairman.

The UH System Board of Regents comprises nine members and a student regent. Every 2 years, the governor of the State of Texas, subject to Senate confirmation, appoints three members to the Board of Regents. Each regular member serves a 6-year term. Non-voting student regents serve 1-year terms.
