China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) announced that its Weizhou 6-13 oil field has begun production ahead of schedule. Solely owned by CNOOC, the field is expected to reach peak output of approximately 9,400 B/D in 2019, the company said. Weizhou 6-13 is located in the Beibu Gulf of the South China Sea at an average water depth of 115 ft. The project includes a newly built wellhead platform and also uses the existing facilities of the Weizhou 12-1 oil field.
