Repsol and partners Petronas and Mitsui Oil Exploration (MOECO) made the largest gas find in Indonesia in 18 years with the Kaliberau Dalam (KBD) 2X well in South Sumatra. The preliminary estimation of at least 2 Tcf of recoverable resources also places the discovery among the ten largest finds worldwide in the past 12 months. Wood Mackenzie estimates that the KBD2X may produce natural gas at 300 MMcf/D for 15 years. The well is in the Saka Kemang block, in which Repsol as operator holds a 45% working interest. Petronas holds 45% and MOECO the remaining 10%.
