Charles McConnell, executive director of the Center for Carbon Management in Energy (CCME) at the University of Houston, was named to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee. The committee is charged with helping to guide the EPA on issues related to the chemical industry. McConnell’s term on the committee will continue through 2021. He was a former energy executive and assistant secretary in the US Department of Energy during the Obama administration and was recently named executive director of the CCME.
