Trendsetter Completes Delivery of Production Equipment for Leviathan Project
Trendsetter Engineering has completed the design and build of subsea production equipment for Noble Energy’s Leviathan project in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel, capping off over 2 years of effort.
The scope of work included multiple clamp connection systems, subsea distribution equipment, monoethylene glycol filter modules, 2-in. connection systems, and subsea manifolds.
In its 3Q 2018 report in November, Noble Energy said the Leviathan project was 67% complete, remained on budget and on schedule for first gas sales by year-end 2019. Other milestones included:
- Finished 2 well completions, flow tests confirmed deliverability
- Completed installation of subsea trees
- Completed floating of the main deck
The platform jacket was delivered in January. Tapping into the 612-Bcm Leviathan reservoir, the platform’s full processing capability initially is expected to be 1.2 Bcf/D with possible expansion to 2.1 Bcf/D. Noble Energy said the field contains at least 22 Tcf of recoverable natural gas.
The first phase of the project carries a $3.75-billion price tag. Combined with a planned second phase, the total project cost may top $5 billion.
