Subsea 7 To Provide Installation Services for Anchor Field Project
Chevron awarded Subsea 7 an installation services contract for the Anchor field, located in the Green Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico approximately 140 miles off the coast of Louisiana.
Subsea 7 said its scope of work includes project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of the subsea, umbilicals, risers, and flowline components including the production flowlines, risers, umbilicals, flying leads, jumpers, and associated appurtenances.
Project management and engineering will start immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Houston, while fabrication of the flowlines and risers will take place at its spoolbase in Ingleside, Texas, with offshore operations anticipated in 2022 and 2023.
The installation services contract is the latest awarded for the Anchor project.
In March, Chevron awarded Aker Solutions a contract to provide umbilicals for the Anchor project.
Sanctioned in 2019, the Anchor project is the first deepwater high-pressure development to achieve a final investment decision. Stage 1 of the Anchor development consists of a seven-well subsea development and semisubmersible floating production unit with first oil anticipated in 2024.
The planned facility has a design capacity of 75,000 B/D of crude oil and 28 MMcf/D of natural gas.
