Cameron LNG Reaches Final Commissioning Stage of Train 3

The final commissioning stage of Train 3 brings the Cameron LNG project closer to initial production expected in Q2.

McDermott International and joint venture partner Chiyoda International said Train 3 of the Cameron LNG project reached its final commissioning stage, which includes introducing feed gas into the Hackberry, Louisiana, liquefication export facility.

This brings the project one step closer to full completion with initial LNG production expected in the second quarter of 2020. McDermott and Chiyoda have delivered engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for the project since it began.

The Train 3 announcement comes a just over a month after Train 2 began commercial operations.

Phase 1 of the project’s three liquefaction trains have a projected export capacity of more than 12 mtpa of LNG.

Cameron LNG is jointly owned by affiliates of Sempra LNG, Total, Mitsui & Co. Ltd., and Japan LNG Investment LLC., a company jointly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki.
