Petrobras awarded three contracts to a partnership comprising shipping companies Solstad, OceanPact, and geodata company Fugro to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services for its subsea activities in Brazil.

The contracts are for 3-year periods with additional 1-year options, and Fugro will deliver five work-class ROVs outfitted with tooling and survey spreads operational in water depths up to 3 000  m.

One ROV spread will be installed on Solstad’s anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel Far Statesman to conduct anchor handling and other subsea support activities, while the other ROV spreads will be deployed in pairs on two vessels operated by OceanPact to perform inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) services.

Fugro said the contracts will nearly double its IRM capacity in Brazil.

Solstad said in early August that Equinor Brazil extended the contracts for its platform supply vessels (PSV) Sea Brasil by 1 year until December 2021 and Far Scotsman by 6 months until May 2022. Both vessels will continue to support Equinor in its operation and development activities in Brazil.

In addition, Total E&P do Brazil extended the contracts for the PSV Normand Swift and the AHTS Far Sagaris until December 2020 to support the operator’s activities in the Lapa field. During the charter period, Far Sagaris will be replaced by Far Scout, as Far Sagaris will begin a 3-year contract with Petrobras.
