Aker BP proved oil and gas with its latest wells in the Alvheim area of the North Sea. The wells were drilled in 120 m of water in license 869, approximately 4 km northwest of the Bøyla field and 225 km west of Stavanger. Exploration well 24/9‑14 S delivered a gas column of 30 m and an oil column of 38 m. Appraisal well 24/9-14 A encountered various gas- and oil‑bearing injectite zones. Estimated recoverable resources are 10–21 million m3. Aker BP, which holds a 60% interest in the license, and its partners Lundin Norway (20%) and Vår Energi (20%), will consider a tie-in to Alvheim area infrastructure.
