A new Young Professionals (YPs) Section was established in Qatar in September 2007. An inaugural event was attended by more than 130 YPs and industry leaders, showing outstanding support for the formation of the group. There were presentations by the local SPE Chairman, local industry leaders, and two young professionals, after which all the attendees were invited for a networking buffet dinner. Based on the successful kick-off event, the organizing group is currently making plans for the future structure of the group as well as future events.
