The Dallas Young Professionals (YPs) Section has had several social gatherings in 2008, with the most recent being a St. Patrick’s Day party hosted by Matt Kerr of Pinpoint Drilling at his home near the Lower Greenville area. The party included live music and a large barbecue. It was attended by many of the Dallas section engineers and their friends. The Dallas chapter’s inaugural YP softball tournament, with approximately 50 players from local production and service companies, took place in April. A luncheon in late April featured a business motivational speaker, and a dinner forum was planned for mid-May that will feature industry experts speaking on the topic of starting a production or operating company.
